EAA CHAPTER 1264 NEWSLETTER
NEXT MEETING TUESDAY, APRIL 13th, 7 pm
LOCATION - JERRY GABES HANGAR ((Next to Gavilan College)
We are pleased to announce the following changes. Subject to confirmation by the members present, Tony Babb will assume the duties of Chapter President, and Ruth Ann Robinson will assume the duties of Chapter Vice President at our April Meeting. This is a long-needed change and we are fortunate to have two very capable members coming forward to lake the reins of the chapter. Fred Meyer will continue as Secretary Treasurer and I will remain Young Eagles Coordinator. A new Board of Directors will also be seated in compliance with our status as a non-profit corporation.
With a meeting room at the airport coming soon and with our new officers in place, this will be a turn-around year for our chapter. This may also be the start of a new era for the Hollister Airport with our Memorial Day weekend airshow filling the slot vacated by the long-running Watsonville event. Our chapter has been given the job of directing and parking the fly-in aircraft for the two-day event and for this we need volunteers. The work will be divided into four segments; Sat. a.m. & p.m. and Sun. a.m. & p.m.
Please let me know if you can help out on one or both days. If parking planes isn’t your thing, your help is still needed – there are plenty of other jobs to fill.
Please click here for a volunteer registration form, fill it out and sign and return it to me or to the airport office. There will be a spaghetti feed for the volunteers on Saturday evening in Hugh’s Vintage Museum. Airport Director Mike Chambless has done a remarkable job of pulling this event together in a very short time and Tony Babb has created a first-rate airshow web page at www.hollisterairshow.com . Check it out and please try to attend the April meeting good things are starting to happen!
